It was amazing to read a report from Samuel Cristian, an SGA sponsored missionary in south-east Romania.
He explained how over the past 18 months the books of Acts, 1 Corinthians and 1 & 2 Peter were memorized and studied by the church. Then they worked with two composers preparing a melody for these books.
Samuel described another project:
The Lord has put on our hearts another project with a professional musician, Daniel Motocan, a project whereby the songs for the verses to be memorized are arranged in such a manner that they can be played by the Tariverde orchestra on three instruments: 1st mandolin, 2nd mandolin and 3rd mandolin. The Lord placed in our minds an idea of a concert, entitled “The Sung Word”, the 1st edition dedicated for 1 Corinthians.
With many long hours of practice and rehearsals Danile Motocan conducted the mandolin orchestra at a ‘Word in Song’ concert on 25th July. Samuel considered this event as a wonderful Gospel witness to all who attended. He is trusting that those who have memorized the Scriptures and studied them will grow in their faith.
