the inside story

Medical Equipment Provided!

Over the years the team has visited hundreds of communities, and thousands of people have received physical and spiritual help. However, some of their equipment has been ageing and failing to give accurate results.

While we have a health care system that some may feel fails us and is not ‘available at point of need’, we can still be thankful for dedicated staff, good medical equipment, and accessible medication.

In some regions where SGA serves there is a lack of reliable equipment, and the cost of consultations and medication is too costly for some to obtain.

The SGA sponsored medical ministry team addresses this situation by running medical mobile clinics in parts of Ukraine and Moldova. Over the years the team has visited hundreds of communities, and thousands of people have received physical and spiritual help.

However, some of their equipment has been ageing and failing to give accurate results. One such piece of equipment was their 20-year-old ultrasound machine which had stopped working and urgently needed to be replaced to continue this important ministry. We received a request to help fund the replacement. One of the medical team, Dr Andrey, sourced a 10-year-old portable device in very good condition.

We are grateful that through your generosity we were able to send funds for the purchase of this machine that had come from Germany.

Dr Andrey shared a little about how the ultrasound was put to good use and expressed his appreciation.

Some people were examined in a local hospital, but after they came to us the diagnosis completely changed. For example, a man came to us, and we discovered a large stone in his kidney which he knew nothing about, and he had been treated for prostate inflammation. In this case he needed surgery to remove the stone and the treatment he had been prescribed in a local hospital was useless.

I want to thank our Lord Jesus Christ and SGA UK for this gift.

This machine has significantly improved our experience in diagnosis. Unfortunately, the situation in Ukraine is that the medical care in villages and smaller towns is in a very neglected state.

Hospitals and clinics are not able to buy modern equipment. So, when we tell about our opportunities and abilities many people invite us to come to their area and do a modern diagnostic examination with ultrasound machine or an ECG and to prescribe a modern treatment.

Again I thank the Lord and your association. May God bless you in your work.  Thank you!
