Tomasz, a Pastor in the south of Poland who leads a growing church in his town, having access into schools to speak about the dangers of drug and alcoholic abuse, writes:

SGA LEADERSHIP SUPPORT

A year ago Romek came to our church during one Sunday service asking us to pray for him. He was an alcoholic. We could tell that he was under the influence as soon as he entered the door. He was crying and, in the midst of his tears, asked for prayer. What should we do? The Lord led me, and the church, to pray for him there and then despite the condition he was in at that time. The Lord Jesus, during the prayer, gave Romek the strength to reject alcohol. Then he took the decision to walk with God.

It’s been a year since that day and Romek is a completely new man. He loves Jesus and lives with Him daily. Before he came to us asking for help his marriage had been hanging by a thread, he had lost his job and been robbed of his documents and money when he’d been drunk. He had thought of suicide. Today Romek has a job, he is an exemplary father and husband, but more importantly he lives with the Lord. Jesus gave him a new life. Romek requests prayer for his wife who so far has not come to church with him.
