Over 4000 widows helped

SGA WIDOWS’ PROJECT - Latest Update

In 2001 SGA had a vision to reach just two hundred and fifty widows in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia with a gift of £50 each to help alleviate hardship, particularly in the wintertime. We are overwhelmed that so far we have been able to help over four thousand one hundred widows because of your continuing generosity to this great need.
We are pleased to report that this past winter many have again benefited from our help and therefore the project will continue to run because the need is still great. Our vision for this project is centred in a phrase from the book of Job: “I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.”

FACTS:
During the winter of 2007/2008 over £29,000 was sent to Eastern Europe and Central Asia to help many widows in the following countries:

  • Romania
  • Ukraine
  • Moldova
  • Serbia
  • Bulgaria
  • Poland
  • Macedonia
  • Central Asia

LETTER OF THANKS:
Here is just one letter of thanks we received this year.

Peace be with you!

Dear brothers and sisters,

It’s Nadeshda Zubin writing to you. I thank you and God that you pray for me and my family. I feel this support. God helps me, strengthens and enables me to bear my grief and sorrows. Thank you also for the material support for my children and me. May God bless you and your ministry and recompense your love one hundredfold.
Here are some words about my family. I had to be in hospital with my son Victor in February, when God allows we will go to hospital for therapy one more time. The other children are healthy so far, praise the Lord. They participated in the Christmas programme in the church with songs, poems and some drama. They were very happy.
I continue my ministries at church. I am involved in the orchestra, the choir and a children’s group. Please keep praying for us. Pray:
1) For wisdom in bringing up the children.
2) That the children would be obedient.
3) That I might be obedient to God.

Yours in Him
Nadeshda Zubin
