Laying a good foundation

- the theme for our SGA Conferences in the autumn

bruce milne

He was converted in his late teens during an evangelistic outreach to the city. Sensing a call to full-time ministry, following a year as a volunteer teacher in Nairobi, Kenya, he studied Arts and Theology at St Andrews and also at London Universities, graduating with M.A. and B.D. degrees. He then completed work at New College, Edinburgh for a Ph.D., awarded by the University in 1970.
After serving six years as a church planter for the Baptist cause in Livingston, Scotland, for the next ten years Bruce taught Evangelism, Pastoral Studies, and Biblical and Historical Theology at Spurgeon’s College, London. In 1984 he became Senior Minister of First Baptist Church, Vancouver - a hugely diverse and vibrant congregation at the centre of the most secularised city in North America. Bruce concluded his ministry there in 2001.
He is currently engaged in writing, an international conference ministry, and the encouragement of pastors.

His most well-known book, Know the Truth, a primer in Biblical Theology, has been translated into seventeen languages worldwide, with others in process. Some of these have been funded by SGA in Eastern Europe.
We plan to have Pastor Gigi Dobrin and his wife Lavi from Medias, Romania with us, as guest speakers. As well as pastoring a large church and being involved with a wide church planting ministry in his area, Gigi also teaches at the Emanuel Christian University of Oradea.
Also speaking will be Pastor Peter Mikhalchuk and his wife Luda from Moldova. Peter is at the forefront of church planting in Northern Moldova today and in recent months has seen hundreds come to faith in Christ. He has sent many students from his Church to the SGA Mission School and today a large number of them are involved in village evangelism and church planting.
Plan to attend this year. You will not go away disappointed.
