Good Books Are Important
Dinu Moga, Director of Faclia Publishing
House, Oradea, takes every opportunity to
provide tools for ministry amongst Romanian
believers. At the annual Baptist conference
where more than one hundred pastors took
part, various topics were discussed to help
improve ministry and sound theological teaching
in the churches.

Dinu displayed all their books and emphasised
the need for every pastor to acquire commentaries
and the latest theological textbooks. One
of their latest publications on display
was “A Call to Spiritual Reformation”
by D.A. Carson.
This was published with a view to helping
churches to get back to a devoted life of
prayer and Christian living. It was translated
and printed with the financial support of
SGA.
At an important conference held last year
in the Chapel of Emanuel University, Oradea,
the aim was to bring pastors and Christian
workers together from all over Europe for
three days of Bible studies and prayer.
All the seminars were dealing with the Biblical
basis for evangelism and church planting.
Romanian pastors from USA, Moldova, Siberia,
Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, and other
European countries came and gave reports
about the growth and development of the
Romanian churches abroad. More than four
hundred people gathered. This was an excellent
opportunity for Dinu to present all their
books on a large display stand. Before every
session Dr. Negrut, the rector of the university,
presented two to four books.

These recommendations were very much appreciated
and many people went back home with their
bags full of the books. At this conference
pastors were particularly encouraged to
take back with them “Systematic Theology”
by Wayne Grudem and the series on Romans
and other books by D.M. Lloyd-Jones. Some
of these were also recently funded by SGA.
The conference confirmed that Romanian
believers are spread everywhere in Europe.
It is estimated that there are between two
and four million Romanians now living in
Western Europe. Delegates were told that
there are about 550,000 Romanians in Spain,
600,000 Romanians in Italy, and about 500,000
Romanians in Austria. This does not include
UK, Republic of Ireland and other countries.
The Romanian diaspora offers an immense
opportunity for mission and evangelism among
the unconverted Romanians from these countries.
At the same time these Romanian churches
need well-equipped leaders, preachers and
teachers, as well as good books.
“As Romania is still a country
in transition to a free market economy,
we are still dependent on financial support
for the translation and the printing of
these books,” explains Dinu. “In
this respect I wish to express my gratitude
to all who have given us their financial
support in the production of these books.
Due to the importance of this ministry,
I seek to produce as many books as possible
and distribute them in every way possible,
in Romania and among the Romanian believers
in Western Europe.”
