At the end of July torrential rains again flooded parts of Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine, Moldova and Romania. SGA received an urgent plea for help from Pastor Catalin Croitor (Director of the Mission School in Suceava).
“Our area has been flooded as never before. Bridges are down and roads destroyed. Thousands of homes have been flooded and hundreds of people have been left homeless. Water entered at window level in the houses and many animals were drowned. Five people have died. With the bells from Churches sounding the alarm, the noise of the heavy rain and the screams of the people, some thought it was the end of the world for them.”
As a result of Catalin’s appeal SGA responded immediately and financial resources were made available to help aleviate some of the suffering.
“I want to thank SGA for the generous gift sent for the flood victims. It was much appreciated.” Catalin explained. “With the money you sent we were able to buy food supplies for the families affected by the flood and also help financially with the repairs and rebuilding of some homes. We also gave out evangelistic tracts and literature, telling people that only the Lord Jesus can turn their lives around completely. People were crying when they saw us coming with the food supplies and they were very thankful.”
