A modern day account of God's protective and sustaining power in post-Communist Poland.
A new book has been published by SGA entitled “IN THE EYE OF THE STORM” written by Krzysztof Oscieki and edited by Trevor Harris. It is available from Staff at a cost of £1.50. Contact the office for postage costs if you wish to receive it by post.
Here is what Trevor says about the book:
Throughout its history the Church of Jesus Christ has met with varying degrees of opposition. During the days of Communism in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe this was often rigorous and at times brutal, but even following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, opposition has continued in some of those countries, albeit in more subtle ways.
Here is the story of what God has done in further establishing His Church through the dedicated commitment to Christ by ordinary men and women, living in post-Communist days in the city of Sopot, located on the cold shores of the Baltic Sea in the northern part of central Poland.
As you read this book you will discover how, under the prayerful leadership of Rev Krzysztof Oscieki, along with the faithful support of his wife Kasia, one part of the Church of Jesus Christ found strength and fortitude to persevere as they lived in the eye of the storm of opposition. Here they proved the reality of a promise found in God’s Word – “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17) |
