A desire for the word

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

It is always a special joy to see the work and ministry expand in different fields and when this is accompanied with the desire by many, to learn more of the Word of God, it is especially stimulating.
Just recently SGA was pleased to open three new Mission Schools in Romania … one in Satu Mare and two in Baia Mare.

SATU MARE

The Church in Satu Mare is a relatively new church plant and we were thrilled to have seventeen students who had committed themselves to the teaching programme in preparation for serving the Lord. Some of this group were fairly new believers and to see their hunger for the Word, was very encouraging.
While teaching this group we learned that during the 1980s the School of the Prophets in Oradea had a big influence for the Gospel on this region. Students at that time were sent out as missionaries into the Satu Mare area to evangelise and through them many souls were saved and the fruit of that ministry is very evident today.

BAIA MARE (1)
In Baia Mare the classroom was full to capacity with thirty-nine students, all with a desire to be better equipped to serve the Lord. The leader of this school studied at our Vienna School of the Prophets a few years ago, when he lived there, but he has now returned to his own country ... always a very encouraging sign. This group in some measure contrasts with the Satu Mare group in that many of the students have been Christians for a longer time.

BAIA MARE (2)
Students gathered in April for the launch of the second new school in Baia Mare. It was with great enthusiasm that Daniel Chereji the Pastor, welcomed all who were committed to the two-year course. Forty students registered, representing twenty village churches or mission groups and some had travelled one hundred and forty kilometres to attend. Most of them are preachers in village churches and others are seeking to develop their ministry. Daniel is very enthusiastic about church planting and desires to reach many villages in the Baia Mare area and also the thousands of Romanians living in Ukraine.

The purpose of these Schools is to involve more people from the many villages in this northern region, that are largely unevangelised and thus to provide manpower for small churches with no Pastor or worker. One of the many encouragements drawn from the students in both areas, is their desire to have good literature available for their studies. This will be available through a central library set up for each School. Our investment in literature ministry over the years, is bearing fruit.
These new Schools are in their infancy and prayer is needed that each student will persevere and continue to the end of the course and more importantly, that our Lord Jesus will be greatly glorified through their lives and ministry.
