The recent opening of the Good News Foundation Centre in Orgavany, Hungary, was the reward after many years of faithful labour by Charles and Agnes Ficsor and their team of helpers. It was a privilege to be present at the dedication of this new centre to the glory of God. The local Mayor was also present and brought greetings, speaking highly of their work.
SGA’s connection with Charles and Agnes goes back more than thirty years, to the time when SGA teams brought out Gospel recordings which had been prepared by Charles, to be broadcast back into Hungary through TWR, during the time of Communism. Those times were fraught with danger but the Lord protected Charles and Agnes and their family and also the SGA teams who carried the recordings out across the borders.
Our involvement with Charles and Agnes has deepened since the establishment of the Good News Foundation which was set up in the eighties to help poor families, including gypsy families. The outreach programme includes a literature and cassette/CD ministry, bringing the Gospel to those who are lost. Since its inception we have supported Charles and Agnes in this ministry as well as in their camp ministry.
Over the years we have been able to supply vehicles to assist them in the distribution of much needed humanitarian aid and SGA teams have been able to make use of the vehicles at different times, for travelling on into surrounding Eastern Europe countries.
Recently a Church Fellowship has been established to evangelise mainly the gypsy community and the Lord has been pleased to bless this ministry in the salvation of souls and the Fellowship now numbers around sixty people, including young people. At the opening and dedication of this new building it was thrilling to hear testimonies from some of those who had found the Lord through this outreach work.
The new Centre includes suitable rooms for the sanctuary, with accommodation for several visitors, plus additional rooms to store their humanitarian aid.

SGA was able to contact a volunteer group called LIFT (Labour In Faith and Trust) from Northern Ireland who spent two periods of time working on the project. Their expertise greatly enhanced the building and was much appreciated by our Hungarian friends.
The ministry of the Good News Foundation has spread into other areas of Hungary and it was encouraging to hear volunteers from outlying areas report and bring greetings at the opening, one example being a school teacher who assesses needs and distributes to needy families in her village.
We trust and pray that this new facility will mark a new era in the work of the Good News Foundation.
